Expensive Grilled Cheese Visits South Beach

Diana Duyser's famous "Virgin Mary" grilled cheese sandwich is on display in front of Miami Ink Tattoo Studio today. Duyser made the sandwich ten years ago and claims that as she was taking a bite, she noticed the image of the Virgin Mary staring back at her. Back in November of 2004, Duyser listed the item on eBay and the bidding war began. At one point, eBay took the listing down because they thought it was a joke, but once verified, the sandwich was racking up the bids. It sold for $28,000 to GoldenPalace.com .

The sandwich was brought to South Beach in a bullet proof case. Duyser is getting a tattoo of the image near her heart so that it will always be with her. For more information about the infamous sandwich check out the story by local10.com.
